The Hives

The Hives are a Swedish garage punk rock band formed in 1994 by five teenagers from the industrial town of Fagersta. The band members are Howlin' Pelle Almqvist (Per Almqvist), the energetic lead vocalist, Nicholaus Arson (Niklas Almqvist), the crazy guitarist, Vigilante Carlstroem (Mikael Karlsson Åström), also guitarrist, Dr. Matt Destruction (Mattias Bernvall) the bass player and Chris Dangerous (Christian Grahn) in the drums. They are known for performing in matching black and white suits, which has changed with each album.
The Hives began to appear in several public places around their hometown and in 1995 the band was already known in almost entire Sweden. In 1996 they released an EP called Oh Lord! When? How? that presented the band to the world. In 1997 they released the album Barely Legal. In 1998 comes out another EP A.K.A. IDIOT that contained four new songs. In April 2000 the band released the album Veni Vidi Vicious and immediately they started to travel and touring around the world for two years. This album yielded the singles "Hate to Say I Told You So", "Main Offender", "Die, All Right!", and "Supply and Demand." In the meantime, The Hives won "Best International Band" and "Best Dressed Band" awards at the 2003 NME Awards. After Barely Legal and Veni Vidi Vicious, The Hives returned with the album Tyrannosaurus Hives in July 2004, which included the hit singles "Walk Idiot Walk", "Two-Timing Touch and Broken Bones" and "A Little More for Little You". In October 2007 they released their fourth studio album, The Black and White Album. The Hives were featured in a Finish Line commercial performing "Tick Tick Boom", as well as a Nike commercial featuring the song "Return The Favour". "Tick Tick Boom" was also used in many different advertisements including: the 2007 season of the NFL Network, commercials for the CBS series Jericho and the USA series Burn Notice, as well as the films Jumper, McGruber and Get Smart, and was also the official theme song for WWE Survivor Series. The Hives song "Try It Again" was featured in the trailer for the US film Get Him to the Greek. Finally in March of 2012 the band announced their new album, Lex Hives, already in stores, through their own label, Disque Hives, and it will be composed of twelve self-produced tracks, with a deluxe version containing bonus tracks produced by Queens of the Stone Age frontman, Josh Homme.
See below the first single from the new album, "Go Right Ahead" and some of other amazing songs from this great band, The Hives.
